HMS Hear My Story

The history of the 20th and 21st Century Royal Navy, told through the stories of the men and women who have served and still serve. Try our interactive timeline, see personal items and read stories of naval personnel from 1900 to the present day. Take part in our interactive debate, find out how naval families cope when their loved ones are away and see the gun that fired the first shot of the First World War at Sea.

Our special exhibition gallery plays host to a variety of exhibitions - from art exhibitions to special interest subjects. Our current exhibition is "A Long Shadow" is an exhibition of three dimensional artwork that challenges visitors to rethink events in our shared history by artist in residence Helen Snell.
